2. The Competition will consist of 3 categories:
A. Panfish
B. Bass
C. Other
Total length for each category must be taken. Teams may enter only one or all three categories, so be sure measure every fish caught even if it is not legal size. The number of fish measured for a category may not exceed the daily limit for any species per person. 25 bluegill; 5 bass collectively of any kind; and other, limit 10 carp or catfish.
3. Digital pictures are manditory to be considered for the tournament winners. The date must be stamped onto the pictures. Participants without pictures will not be elgible for the winning trophies.
4.The tournament officially begins at sunrise on July 18th and ends at 5:30 pm where all teams must be present at Fairfield lake park to report their lenth of fish.
5. Teams may travel to any public fishing sites in Tippecanoe County to fish. Private ponds, or Private access to streams and creeks are not allowed. The tippecanoe river may be accessed at pretty prairie road, but the bicycle bridge and the bridge at SR 18 is in Carroll Co. so that is off limits. The wildcat may be accessed at any of the parks inside tippecanoe county. Don't forget the ponds at Armstrong and Munger Park. Remember also the mighty Wabash river which may be accessed at numerous sites along river road.
6. Need I say this is a fly fishing tournament only. Artificial flies only, no dough balls, bee moths, worms, liver, or any other edible treats may be used for fishing.
There will be a cookout and celebration immediately after the check in. Hot dogs, Hamburgers and fried fish and bottled water will be supplied. Even if you don't wish to participate in the tournament please try to make it to the cookout. It's garanteed to be fun and full of laughs. There will be an awards ceremony for the top teams and trophies will be presented!
If you have any questions, please post them to this site or contact Dustin Tabert at 765-427-6473 or e-mail at reelteacher@gmail.com
Get your team together quickly and post your team here, so all of us will know who we are up against.
Dad and I will be splitting up, and we are available to be on a team. I am looking forward to fishing with the first person contacts me and wants to be on my team! However, I will not be able to fish until Noon on the 18th due to a vet. appointment for my wife's cat. sorry... That still gives us five hours to put fish on film. I'm praying for a cool rainy day!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU!
