Hello,
Went up to Oakdale and arrived at 6:30 in the morning and there were two people already by the turbine outlet. So I unloaded the canoe and hooked up my new canoe stabilizers. I put on my waders and fished by the boat launch until there was enough light to see where I was going in the canoe. Paddling solo against the current was not as bad as I thought it would be and I beached at the rock island. The water is higher and the gate between the fish ladder and the turbines was shooting water towards the rocks on the east bank and there was a back eddy by the good spot. So I was to chicken to pull the canoe over the riffles and anchor up between the rock island and the spillway. I was able to find some sound footing while wading and was landing some casts right in the spillway. No monsters today but I did catch two tiny smallmouths, lots of white bass and stopped counting skip jack herring after ten.
I was just about to delete this picture when I looked closer I thought it was kind of cool. This was taken when Don and I waded Wildcat Creek recently.
