Greetings. I am a member of the SJRVFFA. Been flyfishing into my third season now. I have a son at Purdue this summer. I was thinking of visiting him this weekend or next and, of course, want to find some new water.
Any suggestions for wading Wildcat or Tippecanoe for Small mouth? Access points, favorite flies etc?
Thanks!

sjrvffabilly -
It is nice to know other folks besides our members are using the boards. On to your question though.
The Wildcat is running really high and fast right now. I wouldn't suggest trying it this weekend, maybe next though. i can not speak about the Tippy. I heard it is up.
If you have a pontoon or float tube Fairfield lake holds nice size bass and alot of bluegill. There are also some park ponds that hold bluegill, but I am not sure on the bass.
Other creeks in the area are Surgar Creek and Big Pine Creek. I am sure they are at least up a little, but I can't give you any specifics.
Hope this helps Les

Yes it is nice seeing fly fishers other than members using the site.
The Wildcat is up quit a bit. Depending on how much rain we get, I wouldn't count on next weekend either.
When it is down to normal levels it is quit wadable going either up or down stream from Fairfield Lakes.
Though I have never fished it, I hear Adams Mill is a good also.
Try Hair's Ears, Blue and White Clousers, and black or olive Woolly Buggers. Maybe even a deer hair popper.

Sjrvffabilly, Does your son fish also? If so he needs to hook-up with the club down here and fish with us. The calendar on our site is always current. He can get in touch with the officers through our e-mail addresses. We would be glad to have him with us. You can check out the calendar too. You are welcome anytime.
