For the green sparrow you will need a shorter heavier nymph hook in size 6-8, some caddis green ice dub, and one shiny green pheasant feather (for not knowing what that specific feather is called) with the after shaft attached…. Youl first put a thread base over the entire hook ending up at the rear, strip the down part of the feather where its longest, right below the useful barbs, and attach it to the vary end of the hook like a tail. Then get a generous amount of ice dub on your thread and get a nice fat body dubbed nearly to the eye (with enough space for a big collar) Then tie in your flashy pheasant feather in at the tip and wrap slightly forward in a fashion to ensure that it will slick back. Then tie in and paler the after shaft in front of your color as another smaller one on the remaining bare hook shank tie it off trim and whip and you have the sparrow another really effective steelhead fly! This imitates both a may fly nymph and a caddis pupae, its really an attractor pattern that I have had great success on. GO CATCH CHROME!
