No, but that's a heck of a good idea. This pattern is modified from one of Barry Reynold's carp flies. I'll try that too. Thanks.

This is what i tie, its pretty simple and works, theres another pattern kicking around out there that a guy from IL ties and its awesome, i just need to find it on the interent again... Does anybody tie the Dave Whitlock Near 'Nuff crayfish? Its really not that hard, similar to the one i tie, ill have to look at it again, one of my buddies i carp fish with can tie it, and youd think dave did!

Jordan, I do see similarities between your fly you posted and the Whitlock one I've seen.
When you tie Clouser style (hook up) flies, do you do anything special to keep from piercing yourself? I find on the few flies I have tied that ride hook up (e.g. trying the panfish charlie that was posted), it can get precarious moving materials around. If I want a red fly, I'll tie it with red materials. I don't want to bleed all over it!

Well having a fully rotary vise will help (RENZ) i put the hook in more towards the point than the bend and maybe a little deeper also and the point is nearly gone, and im just carfeul i gues...

That's a fine looking cray. I tie some similar to that also, I'll bring some tonight to show you.
Trent, there's really no trick, it just takes practice and remembering where the hook point is and where your fingers are. You have to be alert, otherwise, whammo! And a multitude swear words and cursing fills the room. It happens to me all the time.
