Here is a few pictures of a Panfish Charlie I just tied. Rick, sorry to steal your thunder... I just thought the pictures would help some other folks. As you said though, this is a fabulous fly for pretty much anything! I used a size 6 Mustad light arberdeen hook here. Tie in the eyes near the eye of the hook. I usually do this first, but you don't necessarily have to. Wind the thread to the bend of the hook and tie in the tail. Then dub the body on. I use a dash of red sparkle dubbing for gills. Turn the hook over. This fly should ride hook point up. I also tie in a few strands of Krystal flash, although this is optional. The flash should be tied in just in front of the eyes toward the eye of the hook. Here, I pulled the longer marabou fibers from the side of a pair of short marabou feathers. I don't use the whole feather as is doesn't seem to move all that well in the water. When you strip them off of the feather stem, they move much more effectively and just seem to come alive. Tie in the marabou that you pulled off onto the front of the fly, just in front of the eyes, on top of the Krystal flash. Build up a good head and make sure to get all of the excess marabou in front, out of the way of the eye. Here is a top view. Experiment with different materials, colors and also a rabbit fur wing as Rick Mentioned.

Teach,
Thanks for the pics. I am still not sure on posting pictures.(maybe I'll play around tomorrow)
It's neat to see a different take on this pattern. I never tie it on anything but a size 10, 2X nymph hook.
