We had a great time on Hawthorn Lake yesterday with the rugged men of Tippecanoe Fly Fishers. Yes it was windy and cold but we survived the elements with some new friends, stories and a cooler full of crappie. This is one great group of people. They are so much fun to fish with. The men who stare at bass. The bluegill honey hole. Roger and dinner.

Hey it's 3 pm Sunday, and I'm finally starting to thaw out! Ha Ha I forgot my camera so don't have any pics for the site but I can tell you that Jay Burton Is one heck of a fisherman. I asked Jay at one point if he could make a cast without catching a fish? He answered, as he set the hook, Ha Ha Ha,,, I guess not! Don't know how many gills Jay and I caught but it was a bunch. All seemed to be in the 5" to 6" range. Just shy of the frying pan size. Had a great time with everyone, as always! Ready to go again! Thanks Dustin for making this Possible! Krebsie

A huge "Thank You!!!" to all of you who braved the weather to fish for bluegills in Terre Haute. I know its a long way and inconvenient for many of you, but I hope you found this trip to be worthy of your time. I don't know what it is about that place, but I love fishing its waters. The islands and timber just make it surreal somehow. Thanks to Don for allowing me to fish with him. I think he had a good time, at least he is smiling in these pictures. And, I don't know how we kept from tipping the boat over, but we were almost the real tippecanoe fly fishers! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Thanks Don for not leaning back any further than you did! I wish I had a video camera to get a picture of your face as the canoe began to go over... Priceless! Here are a few pics from our time on the water together. It was AWESOME! Here is Don with his first fish of the many that day! And a few more fish that were willing to play! Here, Don sees his target and gets ready to catch him! Sweet Success! It was great fun catching these flyrod friendly fish. Even after all these years, bluegill remain my favorite fish to catch. They may not have the size or power of other fish, but they more than make up for that in willingness to take a fly. Great to see everyone there. I hope you will join us next year, and hopefully the weather will be a little more pleasant. At least it didn't rain!!

Once again it was a great time on the water with some of the greatest guys on the planet. I had a great time fishing with Roger and I look forward to more of these good times. Hope to see everyone at the fly casting clinic.
