Mark your calendars now fellow fly-fishers! We are pairing up with the fantastic people from Reelwomen / Reelmen of Indianapolis and heading to Terre Haute for some unbelievable bluegill fishing. Last year we had some trouble with a triathalon, but this year we've moved the date to earlier in May. This should be a perfect time to fish for thousands of hungry bluegills! We will be meeting at Cracker Barrel off of I-70, in Terre Haute at 7:30 am. There will be a fly-swap, so bring a dozen or more of your favorite bluegill catching fly and exchange them all the others who choose to participate. Learn great patterns, fantastic tips and hear great stories. At 9:00 am we will be heading to Hawthorne park for the some of the best bluegill fishing in the state. I'm not exaggerating. It's really, really good. Join us for wonderful fellowship and great memories. I hope to see you there. Dad and I will be heading down to Terre Haute on Friday night and staying at the Travel Lodge right next to the Cracker Barrel. The rooms are cheap, so I suggest staying there if you can. I will post the information for this hotel soon, so that you can make reservations.

To fish hawthorne you really need a canoe or boat of some sort. I have an extra canoe if someone would like to use it. I think there are several people in the club who can provide an extra canoe if needed. Let me know!

Holy Cow, time flies when you get old! The Bluegill Bash is Next Saturday!!!!!! Make plans now to attend this fantastic event! You will not be disappointed!
Breakfast, Fellowship with ReelWomen-Reelmen of Indy and Fly Swap at Cracker Barrel at 7:30 am.
Fishing Begins at 9:00 am at Hawthorn Park.
Directions to Cracker Barrel in Terre Haute: The exact address is:
429 East Margaret Avenue, Terre Haute, IN.
If you have a GPS, this is a simple task. For those who don't, here you go.
Take your favorite route to Terre Haute, either through the country or the Interstates... If your are coming from the North on 41, you will go right through Terre Haute and you will turn Left or east onto Margaret Ave. just before I-70. Cracker Barrel will be on your right hand side of Margaret Ave.
From I-70 Take Exit 7 and turn north onto US 41. Then turn right onto Margaret Ave.
Directions to Hawthorn Park: From I-70, Take Exit 11 S.R. 46 and turn North. Follow this road all the way to the end, and turn Right or East onto US 40. Go about 1 mile and turn north or Left onto Hunt Street. Go 1 mile and turn west onto Old Maple Ave. The Park will be on the south side of the road and the parking lot is visible from the road.
From US 41 or 63: Turn Left or East onto Maple Ave right at the intersection of 41 and 63. Follow Maple Ave. East all the way to the park (about 6 miles) on your right hand side or the south side of the road.
If you have any questions. Please give me an Instant message, or e-mail or call me.
IF you are planning to spend the night on Friday Night, contact Krebsie or Myself and we can try to coordinate rooms and roomates so that it will be cheaper for everyone. We stayed at the Travelodge last year. It was only like $50 per room. So we are talking like $15 a person if you have 4 people in a room. So, you might want to consider this an option.

I would be interested in going if someone has an empty seat on a boat or canoe. I would not be able to go Friday night, and would prefer to just show up at the lake at 9 on Sat am.

Wayne52 we will get you in a boat. I would like to see you fish with Ray Tabert but if he's not available I will fish with you. I just mapped the drive down to the Bluegill Bash and from the south side of Lafayette it's a 2:00 hour drive. Here is a link to Cracker Barrels location. maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Cracker+Barrel&sll=39.47039,-87.290325&sspn=0.109589,0.264187&ie=UTF8&hq=Cracker+Barrel&hnear=&ll=39.432878,-87.411218&spn=0.027412,0.066047&t=h&z=15&iwloc=A Here is a link to Hawthorn Parks location. maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=&sll=39.432878,-87.411218&sspn=0.027412,0.066047&ie=UTF8&ll=39.489983,-87.321503&spn=0.013695,0.033023&t=h&z=16 Lets get a carpool together to reduce our emissions and get to know one another. If Dave138 is taking his truck I will have three open seats in mine. I will plan on leaving Lafayette at 5am to make Cracker Barrel by 7am. Who wants a ride?
