Just wanted to get the information out to you as soon as I could. After consulting with Channel 18 Weather and the Highway Dept. plus leaders of our community I wanted to let you know that ALL evening programming has been cancelled for this evening, 7 January at St. Andrew United Methodist Church - including our evening Fly Tying Event[/u].[/color].
I did attempt to contact TFF President, Gary Krebs (left a message on his cell) to let him know. I sure hate to do this but our information suggests that the early and sometimes heavy bands of snow today will create poor traffic conditions and the extra snow, dropping temperatures, drifting snow and wind gusts to 30 miles per hour late this afternoon/early evening will make evening driving dangerous and should only be done when absolutely necessary. Safety of our guests and members is paramount.
Again, I apologize for any inconvenience, but we can reschedule an event. A life or serious injury is not quite so easy to "reschedule." We will certainly work with the officers of TFF to reschedule, if desired, or simply reschedule the event for February. That would be their call.

Horsefeathers, I was really looking forward to tying some carp flies tonight. But what can you do about Indiana weather?
I agree with Pat, you can reschedule an event.

Rick - I know. I was looking forward to having the guest guide/tyer with us so Trent could learn some new stuff! Heck, my wife even baked some cookies for it.
BUT, I just found out that one of the United Methodist pastors in our district was killed in a traffic accident today due to slick roads and inexperienced drivers - either can be bad - both can be deadly. If we don't have to be out on bad roads; it's better not to be...

Sorry to hear about the person passing. As much as I looked forward to this, I'll be happy not going out in the nasty weather tonight. I plan on driving down for the show on Saturday, so I should see you all there if the weather isn't too bad.

Thanks Pat for thinking of our welfare! I too am disappointed but would rather reschedule when it's safe for all involved. I shall look forward to tying some crap...I mean carp flies later!
Everyone stay home, cozy and safe! See you all Saturday!
