Hey! Now is the time to get that old rod out of the closet, stretch your legs and arms and learn how to cast that fly the way you've always wanted. FFF Certified casting instructor and TFF member Dave McCollough will be teaching the appropriate ways to cast, showing some common faults and their fixes. He is a great guy and very knowledgable in all things fly fishing. This is a great opportunity for everyone not only to learn to cast better but also to catch a few fish from the Private Raineybrook Pond. It's Loaded with fish! I hope to see you all there! THIS SATURDAY, MAY 3rd at 8:00am!

Hey Teach:
Unfortunately I have to be out of town Saturday and I sure could use some of Dave's expertice! After watching countless videos, reading countless books, my mental block still has me all caflubbered over curve casting. But catch a couple for me. If you should land that 4.5lb LM, that's mine!
Everyone have fun!

That is a good question. I remember last year, there were a few people there earlier, but there is/was? a gate that blocked the entrance. If the gate is open, I'm sure the property owners wouldn't mind if you went in early. Good IDEA... SEE YOU THERE!

It depends on who you ask if the casting clinic was a success. To those who were able to catch fish, of course it was. To the less fortunate, of course it was to. Whenever you are together with such a fine group as there was present, then it just cannot get better. Well maybe if a certain person caught a few more and bigger than someones else. I know I sound jealous, because I am. Great day, great fun, great members.

Thanks to all who came out and made this event possible. Many thanks to Tom Moran, Dave McCollough, and Bob McKinniss for all of their hard work today! Kudos all around! Here are a few pics from the day! Dave helping Scott T. with his cast. Scott had a nice fish, and lost it at the bank! Our Webmaster shows this bass who's boss! Great fish on taken on a Zonker Minnow. Gary Krebs with the fish of the day! This big girl ate the soon to be famous "First Cast Fly" Ask Gary for details. This is a winner! Scott hooks up with a gill. Well, they can't all be huge. Good work Scott! Dave McCollough probes the waters for his elusive fish. phishphinder, send Les or I your pictures so we can post them here. Hope to see all of you on Saturday, May 17 at 7:00 in Denny's at Terre Haute! Details are on the Calendar.
