Big hi five to Radio and Rick on last nights meeting. Despite some wise cracks from some loud mouth in the gallery (who was that guy?). You guys did a great job in the time you had showing rod building basics and some not so basics. I have kicked around the idea of building a rod for some time. With your instruction I don't see that task as overwhelming. (time to buy more stuff!!!) Again thanks tight lines to all barryl

I really enjoyed it as well, right up to the point where I had to take off and miss half of it.
For now I'll leave that in the hands of all you other able craftsmen and women, but it is cool to see how that all goes together. I'll just have to cling to the brilliant craftsmanship of the piggy bank I made in 8th grade shop class!

A Great Big THANK YOU to Rick and Gary! With your instruction, I had confidence enough to come home tonight, ream my cork handle, glue it on, and glue on the reel seat. I carefully measured each guide spacing and taped on all my guides, then I checked the flex of the rod under line pressure through the guides. It looks great to me! I'm ready to wrap on all the guides! I can't wait until I finish! This really was much less difficult than I had always imagined... Like most things in life, we defeat ourselves before even trying something new. I witness this a lot in my 8th grade students. Thank you again for the knowledge, encouragement, glue and brushes. That's all it takes!

Well, another great meeting! Thanks to Gary and Rick and their rod building instructions. They kind of made it look easy, but I know better. Now if Dustin would just hurry and get that new one built so I can test it out!!!!!.

Way to go Teach! I can't wait to see the finished product. It is really very simple. all it takes is a little patience.
When you start buying rod winders, reamers, drying motors, and the like, all you have to tell your wife is I can start saving money on rods. ;D
