I'm hoping the fish are equally amenable tomorrow at the picnic. Looks like fun and I think I recognize one of the flies Dustin taught us at the last tying session.

I forgot to mention the crayfish minnow fly that Dustin tied. That worked really well yesterday. We caught several smallies in the south pond yesterday. Weird! I also forgot to mention that we fished the western edge of the pond that had some shade under overhanging foliage. Also, the very southern edge has a lot of rocks and lots of bass were waiting to ambush.

Good Pics John. Thanks for posting them. That was an incredible evening. Nearly every cast yielded a strike if not a hook up. The smallmouth and a few other species were able to get into that pond during the floods when the wildcat overflows her banks. There are carp, long ear sunfish, green sunfish, and smallmouth bass in that pond. I've never seen any of those species in any of the other ponds. In a few years, there should be some large smallmouths in there, granted they aren't caught and taken home by other anglers. I usually catch a smallmouth or two from that lake every year, and they are getting bigger.
