This had to be one of the best events so far in the history of TFF. Oh yeah, this will be an annual event. Thank you so much for all who participated. You made this possible!
So here are the final standings...
The team with the most and longest amount of bluegill with 16 bluegill totalling 126.5 inches included Dave Taylor and Vernon Jones. Congratulations!
Next we have the Rule Breakers... the team of Ray Tabert and Gary Newlon, who entered a total of 10 smallmouth bass totalling 117.5 inches. Where they were fishing was off limits, but we allowed them to compete anyway. Their age reflects their lack of attention to detail. Always respect your elders. Gary just had a birthday...
Congratulations! You deserve it!
And finally, we have the team composed of Gary Krebs and Don Werden who won with 2 trash fish totalling a whopping 30 inches. They fished hard and it paid off, with a 10" goldeneye and 20" gar! Fine Job. Congratulations!
And now for individual awards...
Cathy and Monica both landed some impressive bluegill, but Cathy's looked slightly larger compared to her cork handle. We believe it was 9 inches! Great job Cathy! The winner of the largest Bluegill!
Ray Tabert, the sneakiest fisherman who ever lived... landed an impressive 17 inch smallmouth bass and took home the bass trophy! Way to go dad!
And finally we have Don Werden who used research, skill and maybe a little bit of luck to land a respectable 20 inch gar. He took home the "Trash fish Trophy Cowbell"! Make sure you ring that thing every time you go fishing for good luck!
Oh yeah, I can't forget the winner of the smallest fish award. Gary Newlon, messing around with a terrestrial hopper or something... caught a 4 inch chub. Here he poses with his major award. Nice one!
Here are the totals:
There were 73+ total fish caught measuring over 488 inches! Great Job everyone! This proves our club does fish! We have some great anglers and awesome fishing companions.
As for John Clanton and myself, well, as everyone predicted, he carried the weight of our team. Sorry John. He caught a total of 9 fish and I only caught 2. However, we had a great time floating down the Wildcat! He informed me that his Blackberry cell phone worked this morning after taking a bath yesterday! Good News!
There was also a casting contest, but there were some clover issues and leader problems so won't post the totals for that. But it was really fun trying to outcast each other. I witnessed some very interesting fly-casting techniques. I think we need a little help. At least I do.
Thanks again to everyone who brought food and cooked the food! It was truly Outstanding!
