Hello. My wife the dog and went to visit Cataract falls and then plunked the canoe into Cagles Mill Lake. I felt like one of the crab boats on deadliest catch rolling around in a canoe when the powerboats went by. Didn't fish for very long but had a good strike but nothing then caught a striped bass? Correct me if I'm wrong. Water was muddy from the recent rains.

He's a beauty but he's not a striped bass, he's a white bass, or silver bass or sand bass or ... and that doesn't look like a fly rod to me! Tisk Tisk Ha Ha Ha Krebsie

If you like hooking up on white bass and don't want to drive too far lake Freeman and lake Shaffer are full of them. When the mayflies are out you can easily catch them on a "fly rod". (I don't know if you have notice these guys like fly rods, not that they don't still pick up a spinning rig now and again) Just a side note they are quite tasty, ah........the white bass not the people on this site.

I knew I would catch crap for the spinning rod. I need to go fly fishing with someone who knows what they are doing. I have a 5wt and an 8wt. Spend the 4th wading in Wildcat creek by Fairfield lakes. Sight fished one large fish but he wasn't buying. Had a great time though. Rained all day and I had the river to myself.
