I would like some input on a pontoon boat. Not like the ones that Krebsie has with roof pitch on the seems, but I am looking at a two in Cabela's . One is a Classic Accessories Arrow Backpacker for $249 and the other is a Crek Co. Sport XR for $349. The Creek Co looks to be worth the xtra money, but the tree has not bloomed yet this year. I did not get as much fertilizer on it last fall. PM me or post. Thanks.

Phish;
Trent, Monica and I all got Creek Co. pontoons a couple of months back. I've only been able to use mine twice because of my surgery, but we had a blast with them when we did have them out. They were easy to set-up and easy to maneuver - once you figured them out. They were easy to cast from; which I was concerned about before we bought them.
Before we bought our pontoons, we did our research. I checked on several other FF-ing boards I'm on and the feedback for the Creek Co. boats was very positive. Now if you wanted to spend several hundred more $; you might get better, but these seemed to us to be the best bang for our $. Just my 2 cents.
Whatever you get, spend a few more dollars and get the rodholders with them!

I have a Creek Company and couldn't be happier. I have two rod holders, one for the rod and the other for the net. I also added the motor mount kit. I haven't had an electric motor on it but that was the only way I could get an anchor mount. They are desgined as one piece.
I bought mine just before we had our 1st annual season starter at Fairfield. What, 4 or 5 years? It's showing signs use but I think is mostly from coming off the truck while going to Knop Lake last summer. A few repairs and everything is just fine.
It is very manuverable, stable, and handles the Wildcat just fine. For the money, you can't go wrong. If I was to buy another pontoon, Creek Company is defiently one that I would consider. I would most likely buy another.

Rick, I'm a wantin' one! After rowing one of Krebsie's this past weekend I've got the itch for a pontoon. Cabelas has the 'Creek's on sale though the shipping would make up for any savings. Wonder if they have them at their Hobart store...just drive up and get one. What modifications do you suggest besides a rodholder?

I have only been in the Hobart Cabelas once and didn't see any inflatables.
The only other acessories I added besides the rod holders was the motor mount kit just to have the anchor system. I am sure you could come up with something else to do with an anchor mount.
I also added oar rest. Cabelas has these also. They are basically a flat "J" hook with velcro that loops over the frame.
I believe Pat, Monica, and Trent got their's through Ebay. Monica got a heck of a deal.

Trent and I got ours through the Creek Co. they had a great sale on them. Monica got hers through ebay and did a bit better than we did for basically the same pontoon.

Phishphinder - yes, make an investment, stay away from the chinese pontoon boat. I have put so much time and effort into making mine work as it should, I would have saved money just buying a good one to begin with. But now that it fits me like a glove, I can't live without it. I took it to Morse reservoir the other day and had a great time catching fish far from where my own two legs could take me. Even with speed boats and big waves from the wakes, I was completely stable and comfortable. I just felt like ripping the hearts out of those dumb ^@@es who decided to show off and blow by me at 40 mph. Mean people suck.
