We are still meeting at St. Andrew UMC.
With the closing of Sportsman's and having to travel about an hour or more to get to Wildcat Creek Outfitters, Flymasters, Gander Mountin, Cabela's, or Bass Pro or even catalog orders. I thought we would do versions of flies using nothing but materials purchased at hobby and craft stores. The hooks will be what can be purchased at the local thingy's or even Wal-Mart or K-Mart.
There is one nymph that we will do I am calling the West Fork Thirteen and a half. The first fish I caught on it was in the West Fork of the Kickapoo and it was a 13 1/2 inche long brown trout.
You may be surprised what can be found if you are willing to look around and make substitutions on hooks and materials.

Rick did a great job this evening of showing us how to tie 4 flies and all with materials he picked up in craft shops/thingy's - who needs the Sportsman's Warehouse with Rick around!
Nice job Rick! Thanks for your passion for tying (and sharing with us).

Thanks guys,
I think part of the fun is substituting materials and changing things up.
Thanks to Carl for his 10 second ant and his material source for his San Juan Worm. Also for hitting those guinea's and to Gary for drying the pelts.
