Small 3 acres farm pond about 30 minutes north of Lafayette. Mostly cloudy, about 70 degree air temp, forgot to take water temp. Very muddy water, pretty windy. Fished about 1pm to 6pm.
Took a couple buddies out, hoping I could get them into fly fishing. Caught a ton of bluegill and some pretty decently sized crappie (in a pond!) Used a variety of streamers, but had the most luck on a fairly small woolly bugger.
Eventually I had enough of the small fish and figured I'd go for the 8+ lb bass that I KNOW are in there. Tried a couple big clousers with minimal luck. Couple 1-2 pounders hit it, but couldn't hook up.
The first timers had a blast. I certainly cleared them of the 'can't fly fish in a pond' stigma!
