I was just wondering if anyone made it out fishing today? Trent, my grandaughter Sophia, Monica and myself did a couple hour float on the wildcat (from Wildcat Creek Park down to Eisenhower bridge). We didn't fish, just getting to know our pontoons.
It was a beautiful day to be out, my grandaughter had a blast playing in the water and floating down the creek and it was fun to play around with the pontoons. Plus we checked out some water we'd never fished before. Great day. What did YOU do today?

Went out to the front yard and did some casting. Stupid me went out in the wind and was throwing a 3wt that I built with two different 3wt lines to see which would match better.
They claim we get smarter with age....uh...not really...

Went down to Linton IN to visit my daughter and grandkids. Took along the 4-5wt just in case I got an offer from my soon not to be my son-in-law because I will have to kill him for not offering to take me out for at least an hour or so. You might read about the murder soon. What a beautiful weekend to get out.

Didn't get a chance at all. Went to a job fair in Indianapolis yesterday (Saturday) then helped my neighbor put in a new front door.
Today I went mushroom hunting with the neighbor and then he helped me put new front pads and rotors on my sons car.
Maybe tomorrow.

Like everyone else I was doing yard work on Saturday. However Sunday i was able to get out and fish for about 2 hours. Too bad we started at 8pm. I did get to throw the big pike flies I tied at the Indy Fly expo and I was ammazed how they looked in the water.

I was in Michigan City got caught in a thunderstorm way to windy to fish the harbor. Besides not even the bait throwers were doing any good. Talked to some of the charter boats coming in Sat. They were doing good but had to put up with very rough water. Trail creel was high and very muddy no hits.

Looks like they posted okay. I was worried about them being too big, but I resized and I think they are okay. You can see in the second pic that Sophia is sitting in my lap. We didn't start the trip that way. She sat in back on the cargo platform thing and hung her legs over (facing forward). That worked great. She eventually decided that she should be running the whole operation and that's when she came up front and got to do a little rowing. Typical of the women in my life, she thinks she needs to be in charge. She also had her Barbie net at the ready in case any suicidal fish happened to jump into it. Should be a fun spring, summer, and fall! T-

I FULLY expect to see you on the back with the Barbie net SOON. It will take her about 10 years to grow into her gear, but I'll gladly buy all she'll use. I actually don't know about fishing yet, she's not really that into it yet, but I'll put her up against anyone in her weight-class when it comes to throwing rocks in the creek and playing in the water - and finding sticks. In Christ; Pat

Yep, first class stick finder.
It's also funny how the ends of those sticks seemed to find their way into my back, shoulders, ears, nostrils, etc. as we were rowing along.
