I was having one of those days yesterday so instead of working around the house in the afternoon I went to Munger Park to wet a line. I was there about 1 1/2 hours and caught a dozen bluegill and sunnies.
I was using a 3wt Sage Light Lines rod and a ferruled leader that I made out of 3/0 olive Danville thread. On this leader at the tippet I switched to fluorescent orange 140 denier UTC. This built in "strike indicator" worked great.
I started with an all white Wulff dry and was getting a hit about every 5th cast. Pretty slow. I switched to a Partidge and Orange and was getting bit about every cast. Though most of them were small.
Most of the hits were light and if it wasn't for the orange tip on the leader I would have never known.
All in all the way the day started it ended pretty good.

Rick, glad to hear you went out. I had my stuff packed to head to the Wildcat this morning but woke up with one incredible headcold/allergy attack...decided not to chance it. Glad you caught some gills!

Great Job Rick! I can't wait to see your new leaders with the strike indicators. Sounds cool and innovative. Heading to TN tomorrow for 4 days on KY Lake. I'll take some pics, if we catch anything.
