Maybe his money stayed in Vegas. No tying cash.

To the extent that my money is also my wife's money (and vice versa), my money stayed in Vegas.
I don't play, not because I have an issue with it, but more that I wouldn't trust myself to know when to quit (up or down). Plus, being a practical guy and knowing the odds, I can't get over the logical hurdle that the numbers aren't in my favor.
But, the Mrs. discovered Black Jack and thinks it is a lot of fun. As long as she only manages to lose her milk money and not the mortgage payment, I can live with that.
As for streamers for you, I've got a few you can try out. I think they are called Joe's Smelt or something like that. Kind of a cool little streamer with the mallard tail feathers tied on top, a la a Zoo Cougar, but not that meaty.
I did bust out a few flies last night, and by a few I mean, like, three. It did turn out that I have size 14 streamer hooks (and some 10s), so I was trying out some very small bugger type flies. One I didn't tie any chenille in, but just did the hackle over a thread base. Not sure how that will work out. I probably should have tied in some wire over the hackle, but I didn't. I was struggling to get bead heads past the bend on those 14s. If the bead did go on, then it tended to be too big of a gap and hung out over the hook eye, so I had to mess around with building up a thread bulge of sorts, to get the bead in the right place. Should be good little pan fish flies.
I did pick you (Pat) up some grey chenille at the 'House yesterday. They didn't have any grey or black in the "ultra" chenille which is the really small stuff. This is just the smallest I could find on a card, so I hope it is what you were looking for. I meant to send it with Heather last night, but she was out the door before I thought about it. I will take some of that dun cape because I realized that Murray's Hellgramite recipe I want to tie is calling for a dark dun. That should be perfect.
So, I'm here. We've been passing the yuk around our house, so just when one kid is better, the other comes down with it, so we've been keeping busy.
