Since there is a thread for introducing oneself, I will go for it. My name is Nathan Ferraro. I have never fly fished as of yet, but I would love to learn. I just picked up fishing last year. I love it. I go to Purdue. I have my own pond, but do not have much variety as far as fishing goes. If you are looking for another person to take/teach fishing, feel free to contact me. I was at the meeting tonight.

Welcome Nathan, You can never go wrong in taking up fishing regardless of how you go about it. Fly fishing, of course, is very rewarding. You have said the magic word POND. Nathan if you did not have this pond every member that I am a where of would be glad to take you along with them and teach you what they know. After you become a member there will be many opportunities to partake in the outing that the club has. I will be looking forward to sharing some water with you. Maybe we can get you some fish for that pond. I hope you enjoyed the meeting. I had to leave early otherwise I would have been able to meet you.l

Welcome Nathan,
Like Krebsie said, come to the outings. Many if not most of us bring extra gear/flies, etc and can readily take someone under wing and get them started. We LIVE to watch a new flyfisher catch their first fish on a flyrod! (disclaimer) Once you do, you've begun your journey to the 'dark' side. But we have more fun...

Nathan,
Glad to see you hooked up on the web site. Be sure to come to the tying sessions at Sportsman's. You don't have to be a fly tyer, just come and join in on the conversation.
Like the others have said, come to the outings. Everyone in the club enjoys helping someone new to the sport.
Welcome.

Nathan;
Glad to see you at the meeting last night! We look forward to getting to know you and fishing with you in the future.
DO come to the fly tying event at the Sportsman's Warehouse on the first thursday of each month whether you tie flies or not. There are any number of us that can take you over to the fly fishing section and answer some of the questions you might have about gear.
Again, great to see you at the meeting last night.

Nate - It is good to see you on the boards. Everyone has pretty much covered everything that I can think of. Keep in mind when these guys start telling you fish stories, be wary.... the fish they caught last week we gain on average 2 inches a year, or mutiply in number magically They are a great resource by hanging out with them I was able to improve my casting and learn what to do and more imporantly what not to do. Welcome
