I have got it SOOOO bad! Last few nights I've set in front of the TV watching roundball and tying...couple dozen a night! I need to get out fishing terribly! My next goal is to learn to use my camera's macro feature (I'm an idiot) and post my own pattern and instructions for the simplest beetle in the world...I tie about two dozen an hour and they slay gills.
Hurry up warm weather!
rf
ps..oooh Phishphinder! You don't tie so I'll give you a bunch!

Yeah and the bit of warm weather helps nudge itch a bit more.
Though as I drive by the Wild cat it does help me know that I couldn't fish it anyway. I was going to go ice fishing tomorrow, but I don't think the ice ice on the safe side anymore.
I plan on tying tomorrow and will be watching the Purdue game. Like you RF i have been watching a ton of round ball. That is one nice thing about my gig is that I work most home Purdue games. Just for the record. No, I can't get anyone into the IU game next weekend. The wife has top priority when it comes to that game.
I guess my big problem is I don't have a TV in my office so i can watch and tye at the same time. Although I am not sure it would be a good idea to do both at teh same time. I might wind up with a sliced finger, and from the pictures that looked like no fun.
If anyone wants to come over and tye after the Purdue game tomorrow evening you are more then welcome to. I can throw some card tables up in the basement.

Les, I think it's neat you can see all the home games! My tying desk is in the family room right behind the sofa in front of the tube, so I can tie and watch bball at the same time. Can't think of what is worse...watching the game in spurts and bits as I tie or the ugly flies I tie because I keep taking my eyes off them to catch some plays...
Some people tie slow...others tie fast. I tie half-fast!

I'm right there with you! This weather is a teaser. I actually did run over to Munger park the other evening when it was 68. The ice was still over all the pond EXCEPT for about 5 feet of clear water between the concrete wall and the ice. Didn't catch anything - I guess I didn't really expect to - but I did get to try out my new Sage flight 4 wt. and Sage reel for about 30 minutes. Now I've got it (Cabin Fever) worse than ever!
I HAVE been tying a bunch o' flies of evenings though. Mostly midges (spring trout in Wisc. & Mich.), beetles, flying ants and variations of Wooly Buggers.

Man am I an idiot. I forgot tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I don't think having a bunch of fisherman over to tye flies would go over to well with my wife. Sorry gentleman.
I am not a complete idiot though I have already bought her flowers.

Oh Cwap, you're right! And here I invited a bunch of guys (16 in all) who're coming over tomorrow evening. Too late to cancel now but at least we're bringing hard liquor! You like anchovies on your pizza?
rf
oh...and we're going to field dress a deer my buddy hit this morning. You got some towels?

LMAO!!! Well at least I have a tree to hang the deer from. Do I need to get the dyhydrators out to make jerky? I will however have to dust off the highball glasses, or are solo cups fine with everyone. There are only two things have found that I don't like on pizza and that is tuna with corn. Mental note - when in another country don't assume you know what is on the pizza

Yikes! Tuna and corn...sounds like a casserole I tried to make one time. I think that thing eventually sprouted legs and is now happily residing in the woods behind our house.
RF didn't say what kind of liquor. Some drinks, out of principal, should never have to be subjected to the solo cup unless subjected to extenuating circumstances.

Then I guess I will be getting out the glassware. I only expect the good stuff. Especially when gutting road kill.

Hey Pat! Isn't there something in the Bible or the Torah about not drinking single-malt from a Solo cup? Should be. Baileys would be okay wouldn't it? We'll do it anyway so your valentine won't have to was dishes.

RF; I do not remember an explicit reference to improper beverage handling - but I'll take a look. But, I'm sure there is an implicit reference under the general heading of proper respect for the many and VARIED gifts one receives. No, wait, Jesus DID make reference to not putting new single malt in old solo cups - no, wait, I don't think that's exactly what He said! Still, I'm sure that covers it. In Christ; Pat

Pat - You mad my wife and I both laugh on that one. We both think that maybe we could actually make it througha sermon on Sunday morning if we knew the pastor had a great sense of humor.

Les;
My faith is as full of laughter and joy as my fishing. I take my faith very seriously, but myself and the little things - not so much. And, it's not so much that I TRY to use humor in my sermons, heck, it just happens (and not always when I expect or WANT it! ;D).
But, just let me say, not everyone shares/enjoys my sense of humor! That's okay; God loves them too!

I think all pastors think they have a great sense of humor. Those of us in the congregation know better and appreciate the ones that actually do.
