Here is a conservation related opportunity for anyone that may be interested. NICHES, with whom TFF is affiliated, sponsors work days at their different land trust related conservation sites. I'm on their email list and I just got this. It is not water related, per se, but a chance for someone to get out and work up a sweat on what should be a nice day. I'll be at my jobby job, so won't be able to attend.
We should think about doing some joint water related workdays as a number of their properties are located along streams and rivers.
Greetings,
NICHES is hosting a workday tomorrow Feb 7 at Fisher Oak Savanna in Jasper County. Workday starts at 10 AM ET. We will be burning brush piles from the savanna thinning work that we have been engaged in on site over the winter. Weather looks to be warm and the day should be fun. Hope to see you there.
Leather gloves and nonsynthetic outershell is recommended.
At dusk 6 PM ET we will have a short talk about owls and then walk the trails and try to call owls in on the preserve.
Come for as much as you desire.
