I am going to the Orlando area in FL for about 10 days early in February to do some fishing. I have a 16' boat and trailer with a 35 hp motor. My question is, would it be better for me to tow my boat from Lafayette, IN to FL or to rent a boat and trailer when I get to FL? I am mainly concerned with which option would be the most economically. I have a 9.9 hp outboard that I can take with me to put on a rental boat. Additionally, I would like to know about the availability of rentals and any experience you may have had renting a boat and trailer in FL. Larry

Wow! You are a lucky man. Well, it just so happens that I've also been researching fishing opportunities in the Orlando area myself. I, with the rest of my family, will be heading to Disney World in June and I definitely want to fish. I searched the web and found a fly-shop called: Orlando Outfitters 2914 Corrine Dr. Orlando, FL 32803 407-896-8220 tj@orlandooutfitters.com T.J. Bettis is one of the managers and is very knowlegdable about that whole area. He gave me tons of advice and told me where I could rent boats, canoes, kayaks, anything... He highly recommended Turkey Lake, and they rent Bass Tracker boats for only $15/day! here is the link to Turkey Lake website: myfwc.com/fishing/fishorlando/fab-five.htmlThere were also a multitude of other options. I suggest you send TJ an e-mail or give him a call and he can really help you with all your questions. Good Luck and let us know how everything works out!
