Krebsie, Dustin, Rick (& whomever else I'm forgetting) I heard back from Jordan. He had a great break and is back in classes now. The date I proposed for Steelhead Class, Pt. I is Thursday evening, 29 January, 7 p.m. at my church (St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 4703 No. 50 W. West Lafayette, take Salisbury out of WL towards Harrison HS and we're on the right side of the road - can't miss us). I'm waiting for him to confirm this as a good date for him, BUT before we get too much further down the planning road on this one, I need to know is this too soon? Do we need longer lead time to get info out? Is there something else happening, club-related, that would be in conflict? Let me know ASAP if this date will work, and once I hear back from Jordan I can get the evening booked at the church and plan some hospitality (with the help of Trent and Monica . Pat

Time is getting short, but get the date set and we can send out a mass email as well as putting it on the website.
With the way the snail mail is around here it may be to late for a mass mailing.

Okay. Just heard back from Jordan and that date will work for him. I will double check this date tomorrow on the church's calendar just to be sure & then I'll let Les/Dustin/Gary/Krebsie know and they can get it on the calendar on the site. We're still working out the details, hope to meet with Jordan next week for lunch to finish the plans for the program but it looks like, in addition to the power point presentation, he'd like to teach us some steelie patterns as well (aww, darn it! ). There was some mention of following this meeting up by hitting the water (Pt. 2, somewhere) the following Saturday but we can finalize that/see who wants to go at the meeting. We were thinking something in the order of 7-9 p.m.? Trent/Monica/me will take care of coffee/tea & munchies for the evening and we'll have the computer/projector/sound ready to go. Will confirm this date in the morning and get back to L/K/D so we can get it on the calendar. Pat

I'm all in for this date. We still have time to do a mailing if we can confirm the date and time! I will volunteer to do the mailing if one of you old timers will tell me how. Krebsie

This day works for me and I am really looking forward to it. We're also really looking forward to hosting it at our church - one of my favorite places to be.

Pat:
since we are already going to be using the projector, I'm wondering if you could talk Taylor or Mike into setting up a live video feed. That way, when Jordan is demonstrating tying the flies, we can project that onto the screen. If it is a small group, it would be no problem just to sit around a table. If it is a larger group, more people would be able to see (and see more detail) by having it projected.
Just an idea.

T-
That's a great idea. I KNOW we could do it if we were in the sanctuary where we have live digital feed; I'm not sure how we'd do that in the Intersection, but I'll bet they can figure out how to add a camera and get it done. I'll check with 'em.

I think it would be function of running of feed from a camcorder on a tripod to either an input on the projector or through the PC. I just don't know the techie details of actually making it work.

Trent; As you well know, I am NOT the one to figure these things out - but we have people who can! Pat
