Hey guys. Good news. I was allowed into the house! I thought the show was great. During the show, a lady from the cancer recovery organization stopped by. It got me thinking about their program. I think it would be good if we could put a link to their website on ours. I know Dustin is getting some of the information from her. I was trying to think of some way that we could help them and came up with the idea to tie flies to sell with the proceeds going to their organization. We thought it would be appropriate to make the ties pink, in honor of breast cancer awareness. I talked to a couple of guys and wanted to run this by everyone to think about. I have got lots of ideas but before going any farther, I know it has to be approved by the board. I think that it would be great if we could help make it possible for one of their retreats this way. Breast cancer is something that could affect our mothers, wives, or daughters. I feel this would be a good opportunity for our organization to do a caring gesture to help others. I would be interested in chairing this project if we're interested as a group. Thanks. Scott Titus

Scott/bowman:
Monica (troutcharmer on the board) spoke with the Casting for Recovery lady for quite a while and is very interested in helping out as one of the Stream Helpers (not sure if that is the right name).
I was just talking at lunch with Monica and Pat about tying up some pink flies for my daughter. It is her favorite color. I'll be happy to make some to sell or raffle or whatever. They won't be art by any stretch, but I'm hoping they catch fish.

The "Casting for the Cure" organization is pretty awesome. They are hosting two retreats this year where they have women recovering and surviving with breast cancer come together and learn to fly fish and provide other programing of specific interest to these women. They have a lot of people who want to help, but always need more. I may have the opportunity to be a "river helper" as they do not have many women who are fly fishers. Interestingly, the attendees are determined from a drawing as they have way more survivors who want to attend the retreat than spots at the retreat. As I find out more, I will keep everyone posted on ways to help. Pink flies is absolutely awesome!!
