I thought the Expo was a pretty cool way to spend part of an icy January Saturday. I also thought the TFF Club was pretty well represented today - the booth looked great, the tyers looked like they knew what they were doing and all the TFF crew looked pretty snazzy in their TFF shirts (where do you get those?)!
Lots to see and do. I cast a couple Winston rods (didn't buy), got a fishing print and a gazillion cards from people guides/lodges/hunting preserves. Glad I went! ;D

Hey Pat: Glad you could come and experience all of the festivities. While the weather wasn't great, the comradrie and connections with the Indiana flyfishing community was! I met so many new people and was able to visit with many others who I hadn't seen in several years. This was so much fun. I'm so ready for spring!
A special thanks to everyone who worked in our booth today. There are too many of you to name individually and I don't want to leave anyone out, but THANK YOU! It was great to be able to come and go and not feel locked down. We had so much help. And thank you for all of the help with set up and tear down. You guys are great!
I know we made at least one new member, but I hope we were able to get maybe 2 or 3 or 20 others interested in our club! I know there were lots of people starring at our flies!
I hope that everyone made it home safe. Regards

Dustin;
I was surprised to see a guy from my church there yesterday who said he was going to join. He's wanting to learn more about the sport and to find some fellowship with others who are into FF-ing. It was great to see him there and I hope he does join us - I need to get him some info on the next meeting.

Pat, I sure you can work something in your sermon about being a fisherman and how joining a club can benefit mankind. Yes the Expo was great and the showing and help from the club members that were there needs to be commended. I know that it is hard to name names, but a special thanks needs to go to Rich Moore for chairing the committee on putting the booth together. I know that we had two paid new members and an interest from many more. Patti was a great host and organizer looking forward to next year. Get ready Rich. Pat, the shirts came from The Sportsman's Warehouse and each member purchased one for the Expo. We all wanted to look really cool. Rich had the logo put on. I'm sure that any shirt that you would want to do this to, Rich will let you know where he got the logo put on. You might want to check this out first so you will have one before you start looking at the gazillion cards you picked up.

What a fun time I had and I'm sure everyone else felt the same way. Great show and very beautifully organized by Reel Men/Reel Women of Indy. Kudos to those folks...and to Rich Moore as well. If you're like me, you all came away with a flyfishing 'high' that should last a long time. Great fellowship, good times! Now we just need to repeat the same on the water.

I am not sure where I had more fun, the expo or at Union Jacks afterword.
Scott - I hope your wife let you in the house once you made it home. Pat - I wish you would have stepped into the booth so we could have actually met. I will be at teh Feb meeting talking about the web site stuff. Krebs - Thanks for the ride. After the game today I am going to get some dubbing wax and see if that helps with the pike fly I have been working on.
To everyone else - I want to let you know I had a great time chatting with you guys and learning a little bit more about fly fishing.

I want to personally thank all of you who participated in the Expo. Planning an event like this is a big job and hats off to all for pulling it off. Something that was very impressive to me was the amount of people we had from our club, everywhere you looked there was a TFF member. We had a potential member ask "What will I get out of joining your club?" I wasn't the one talking to him but if I had the chance to answer I would give him an ear full. If you chose to be a part and not just a paid member here are a few things you will get. 1, An infinite opportunity to learn, without the threat of belittlement, from years of combined experience. In fly tying, casting, fly fishing, places to fish, different kinds fish to catch......... 2, Some of the best fellowship you'll ever experience, I can't think of a single member of our club that I couldn't sit down with and have a really enjoyable conversation with. And I would be honored to fish with any person in our club, any time any where. Every trip and or event we go on is like getting together with your best friends from high school. Yea we pick on each other a bit but it's all in good fun, sorry Scott. Hope you didn't get in to much trouble. 3, How many of us have several extra places to fish because of a fellow club member? If you don't it's your own fault for not being more involved. Get involved and the opportunities will come. Hawthorn park outing, Lyons lake outing, Fairfield outing, I personally had never fished the tippy river south of the bridge, until Dustin took me or Sugar creek or... 4, This club is doing a lot, and the leaders are doing their best to make the changes necessary to make it even better. If you have Ideas that will help the club, approach any board member with your idea and a possible solution, and I've personally found you will always be listened to. 5, Yes there are problems here and there but from personal experience any time you get people together there will be differences of opinions and personality conflicts, no mater what kind of gathering it is. But, this club seems to have the unique ability to set aside those petty things and just get along and have fun no matter what were doing or where we're at. It's a pleasure being a part of this club and getting to know each and every one of you. Krebsie

The Expo was great! I don't know how many people made comments on our shirts. Ardvark did the logo. We need to get with them to see if they would do that for other club members and at what cost. May even check into some hats.
I think everyone had a good time and I'm just about ready to do it again. Thanks to Rich for heading up the committee that put the booth together.
The meal after at Union Jack was a hoot. Scott, I hope your wife lets you in the house again. Remember, it's Tom Hansen's fault.
In case any one was wondering, we had 72 people plus one blank in the drum for the drawing of the Bob White print.
Krebsie,
I couldn't agree more with your assement of the club.

Les;
Hey guy! Sorry I didn't step into the booth and meet you, but when I was there you were busy doing something else and I figured I'd come back. But, later when we finished, we decided to run over to Fly Masters (I love that name) and didn't make it back. I'll look forward to meeting you and anyone else I haven't formally met yet at the February meeting.

No big deal pastor. I was tying most of the day so I looked busier than I actually was.
