Does anybody tie flies that use epoxy?
I was reading a little bit about it and may be something interesting to try down the road. It's probably not something I would get into right away, but it would be fun to watch someone who knew what they were doing.

T-
I don't know about Epoxy Flies, but I am discovering that YouTube is a veritable GOLDMINE for "how-to" examples of tying different flies. They are like 3-7 minute tutorials on how to tie an amazing number of different flies - even how to use a whip-finisher and other tools.

Krebsie,
I'd love to check them out. Are you basically covering the heads/bodies with epoxy, or are you actually making the entire body out of epoxy.
Do you have one of those rotating dryer doohickies?

Every pattern is different. There are some where the head is made from epoxy and others where the head is simply covered. Depending on what you want that particular fly to do. There are several ways to make a total epoxy fly but when you get to that stage your running the risk of is it a fly or a lure? Yea I'm with ya Who Cares if it catches fish!!!!!!!!!!! Yes I have 2 rotators. Home made of course, I used a Christmas tree ornament rotating motor with an alligator clip crimped and glued to the shaft then wired them to a toggle switch. You need a voltage regulator that will step down the voltage to I think 1.7vac which has alluded me thus far so I simply coiled up a strand of christmas tree lights under my bench to step down the voltage and, wallah. Not being satisfied with one I made a second. I experimented with all kinds of motors and speeds and the little ornament motors work perfectly. You can buy them for 5 or 6 bucks if you can find them. Krebsie,
Were you one of those guys that in BC (before cable) times, ran 500 to 1000 feet of antenna wire in your attic to keep from buying an antenna?

It only requires about 60' to pick up TV 18 and an additional 35' for channel 13. If you purchase one of those cheep power boosters it's quite a bit less than that. Krebsie
