Hello All, found this site by searching google. It looks like their are lots of experienced fishers on this site even a woman or two, my wife loves to fish and is better at tying knots than I am, my fingers just ain't made for tying knots. It looks like there is a lot of different types of water just in this area. I look forward to meeting all of you at some time in the future. I learned to flyfish in the smokies outside of Gatlinburg, I then stopped fishing for a long time( kids,etc) and am now relearning the sport.

frayedknot;
I'm a newbie to the club as well. Welcome! I haven't fished the smokies yet - maybe you can give me some ideas on places down there to get into some trout?

Frayed:
not sure if you tie or have an interest in tying. I'm just learning myself. Normally, the first Thursday of the month is a tying exhibition/get together at the Sportman's Warehouse. For January, it is pushed back to the second Thursday because the first Thursday is January 1.
I think the next official meeting is in February. The club has a booth at the Indy on the Fly expo on 1/10. I don't have a role in the booth, per se, but will probably shoot down there to check things out.
Just wanted to let you know of a few things going on in the near future. Welcome to the board and the area and look forward to your participation.
What brought you to Greater Lafayette?

Frayedknot -
Welcome to the TFF little portion of cyperspace. If you ever have question feel free to message me. Everyone on the boards are helpful and will share thier experienves. FYI they do fish, so be wary of tall tales:)
The members area is for dues paying members of the club. Like Trent said we have a fly tying class/gathering at the Sportsman's Warehouse on Jan. 8th. Even if you don't tie this is the first opprotuinity to meet some of the club members.

Frayedknot Just wanted to welcome you to the board and to the area. We would love to have you and your wife and your kids or cousins or uncles or friends or enemies who ever you would like to bring, at the get together on the 8th. You don't have to tie just come and visit, but of course if you would like to tie please feel free to. It's very informal and we have a blast. We are doing a second session on spinning deer hair for this month. Most of us are beginners and have a lot to learn ourselves but we always seem to have a lot of fun. Hope to see ya there, 6:30pm Sportsmans Warehouse Jan 8th. Krebsie
