I found Gary Krebs popper tying videos while searching for info about tying bass flies. That's how I found TFF. I'm new to TFF but not new to fly fishing and fly tying. Several decades ago I used to fish the north shore of Lake Superior and streams in south eastern Minnesota. Now, almost 40 years later I'm returning to fly fishing, specifically fishing for bass. I have spent the last couple of months gathering the necessary materials for tying bass flies, including I thought, the jigs to make Krebs poppers.
I'm wondering if anyone here is familiar with River Road Creations who as I understand makes the jigs for the Krebs poppers. I made an order on Jan 9th and got an immediate confirmation of my order. I have tried three times since to get a status report on the order and cannot get a response. I have never dealt with them before so I don't know the nature of their business practices. My impression is that they're a small outfit that makes and sells the jigs. Sometimes with small businesses things can happen to send them into a tail spin - family emergencies etc. I don't want to file a claim with PayPal if this is the case because it just ends up creating ill will. I would like to know what's going on though and I would like to be spending these crappy winter days tying flies. If anyone has experience with River Road I'd appreciate some insight before I proceed with a claim. Thanks.
UPDATE: Health problem laid low Tony at RRC. Many small businesses can find themselves in a world of hurt when one of the principles is out of commission. I believe that is the case here. Got an email yesterday with profuse apologies for the delay. It's important to support small business people even if it means an occasional delay. I much prefer to deal with a person who has a name and an investment in their product. I know I'll be doing business with RRC again.
