This thread is based on Riverman's comment in the other Boy Scout teaching thread.
Currently the troop has planned a fishing outing on May 1-3 at Camp Buffalo. I know that some of our guys have the regular fishing meritbadge and could use some qualified teachers to broden their horizons as far as the fly fishing merit badge. At the point in time we could have as many as 24 kids on the outing. Generally we have at least five adult leaders as well. Most of them would be interested in learing if possible.
The big difference between this and what Gary is doing is that beside meals we plan on focusing on fishing for the entire time.
If this is something the club is interested in helping with that would be cool. I know, or hope, that Riverman will help me out on this outing.

Anytime fishing is involved I like to help. Anytime fishing is not involved but will help others to learn, I want to help. Send out reminders and see if you can get it on next years calendar. Tell Rick.

Is this an all or nothing deal or will they need help at various times over those days?

Camp Buffalo is near, you guessed it Buffalo, IN. Right now I really don't have many details.
The majority of the fishing will be done on Saturday.
I have not been to this camp, but it is on the Tippy above Saffer, and has a pond that I think is stocked. They troop has fished there before and have done fairly well.
I would think we would be fishing for panfish and bass.
I will post more details when I know them.

Camp Buffalo has a pond about twice the size of Krebsie's. I'm teaching 'fishing' for the Klondike up there on Jan 15th. What kind of fishing I'll be doing on Jan 15th I know not. I'll take my auger and ice gear with me. Fairly shallow pond/manmade stocked with little gills. That's where I was demonstrating ffing during an incredibly windy day two years ago and put an elkhair caddis right into the bridge of my nose...much to the delight of about 30 little Cubscouts... rf
