Drove by on I-65 on the way home today it looked bone dry. Didn't know if it was worth taking my canoe out on any sections. I didn't feel like dragging a canoe the whole way down stream. That would be one hella pain in the butt waste of a day if so. Anyone have any navigation reports lately? Also, whats the best section to fish and where would be a good place to put in/take out this time of year. Was wanting to get catch some smallies. Any info would help.

To low for a canoe right now. Kayak maybe. I just wade most of the time. Lots of public access. I go to Wildcat Park and cross the creek and wade the south fork. Always catch fish. Adams Mill in Cutler is good. There is access at Knopp lake too. Fairfield lakes is another. I caught a nice 13" on fathers day over at Pyrmont. Just waded for an hour or so and fished to deepest water.

Down here in my area you just have to walk the gravel beds and bars to the deep holes. I though about taking my Kayak but its just not deep enough for my big fly fishing Kayak. If you can find shade it is a plus in this heat. I got a new walking stick and I've put it to good use.
