Hope everyone had a great Christmas and got the flybox stuffers we have been trying to be so good all year for. Finally got the copy of Favorite Flies and Their Histories by Mrs. Mary Orvis Marbury. I made a list of the favorite Indiana flies and I am searching for the recipes to tie. Can't wait to try some late 1800's patterns on the local waters. May even have to do it with a bamboo rod.

Merry Christmas everyone! I got three Lie Nielsen corner chisels and some gift certificates. No fly fishing stuff. Bring that book to fly tying at my place coming up. I would like to see what patterns are in it.

The book just gives you a list of favorite flies from individuals at the time of the original printing. No recipes. It leaves you to do a little detective work. But I'll try to remember to bring it.

May even have to do it with a bamboo rod. Dries only. Pure class ;D It was a good day. I was hungover for most of it. Glad it's over and we can return to semi-normality.

Had an awesome Christmas. No fishing stuff but my co-workers did give me a whole bunch of Cabelas bucks...so it's all good! Glad everyone else had a great one. Looking forward to fishing and tying with you ALL here as soon as possible!

Had a great Christmas with new twin grandsons and family. My son-in-law got a new video that is just plain fun to watch on a cold winters day called "Off the Grid". This thing is pure entertainment for the fly fishing enthusiast. Over two hours of incredible photography in places like Alaska, Bahamas, Canada, Colorado,Montana, Mexico, Wyoming and much much more. (with Cuban scenes that are not to be missed). The video is a "Fly fishing film tour selection" that will enhance the most complete collection. So if a wonderful Christmas with friends and family didn't put a lump in your throat try "Off the Grid". If nothing else it will give you time to do winter gear clean up you have been putting off. Happy Holidays everyone!
