Quick intro for me:
I've been fly fishing for a few years now. As Pat (flyfishingpastor) mentioned in his intro, we do a good deal of fishing together.
I think we are both looking forward to getting involved with the club. At work, I sit just a stone's throw from Bill Lovell and he reminded me about the auction this year. I left the auction with a starter vise (which may become a vice!) and some scissors. So, now I guess I've started down that slippery slope of joining the dubious ranks of fly tyers. I don't have the requisite gear or materials to get started yet, but will hopefully be at the fly tying sessions as often as possible to pick up some tips and know-how.
I've got a couple of daughters that will certainly be given the opportunity to learn the sport. I suspect they will at least become competent anglers if not students of the art form. The eldest just got her first fly rod for her 4th birthday, compliments of her papa (Pat). She has yet to use that particular rod, but she has caught fish on the fly thanks to the kamikaze bluegills at Munger Park. Let's just say that her attention span and casting technique could both use some enhancement. The littlest one (3 months old) is probably a few months out from starting her fishing career, but she has prodigy written all over her.

Welcome to the group Trent. My wife sort of sounds like your 4 year old daughter. Not much of an attention span when it comes to fishing and if I only had a dollar for every lure that has went flying by my head:)
