Hello to all;
My name is Pat Sleeth, I live (and pastor a church) in West Lafayette and just wanted to say hello to this great bunch of people. Though I am not a member (yet); my son-in-law and I intend to join at some point. I've been FF for a few years and especially enjoy FF for trout with bamboo rods. Having said that, it's pretty hard to knock a hard-hitting, hard-fighting Indiana Smallie!
I've been to a couple of your dinner meetings (both were annual auctions) with my son-in-law and this year with another friend. I know Dustin and his dad - they were kind enough to do a FF demonstration/seminar for my church (St. Andrew UMC) and did a great job doing it.
Again, since I just joined this forum (for information) I just wanted to say thank you to all the friendly people in this club.
In Christ;
Pat

Glad to have you give us a note. I hope you enjoyed the auction again. This next year we need to see you land a big smallie and attend our other outings. Check out the calendar to see what went on this past year. I am sure that the new president will have another full schedule. Don't forget that there is the Indiana on the Fly Expo in Indy Jan. 10th. The club will have a booth. Come see us and check out the bamboo rods and other great items.

This is the aforementioned "son-in-law". I just signed up for the board and will post a "proper" introduction directly.

Trent & Pat Just want to say welcome! It will be great to have more fishersofmen in the club. Would encourage you to join in. I'm amazed how much I learn every time this club gets together. We are also tying flies at the Sportsmans Warehouse on the first Thursday evening of every month. Make sure you come and join the fun. We had 4 first timers this month and one of the ladies tied a couple beauties. hope to hear from you soon Krebsie

Trent and Pat,
Welcome, looking forward to fishing with both of you.
Trent, I read your post also and it will be fun seeing 2 young anglers grow through the sport.
As Krebsie mentioned, we have monthly tying sessions at Sportsman's Warehouse on the first Thursday of the month.
Hope to see you there. If not for the tying, just for the fellowship.
Again Welcome.

Krebsie,
I think the last fly tying session we went to was in October, but maybe earlier in the year. I can't remember for sure. Anyway, the fly that evening was a foam popper. You gave me a fly that evening, a mostly white streamer with a little red around the head. I don't remember if you had a name for it or not. Anyway, I just wanted to report that I fished it and actually had success with it on two different occasions until a fish decided it needed it more than I did. Just thought you would like to know!
I fished with it once on the Wildcat and once on the Sugar. Once I get set up to tie some of my own, you'll have to show me how to tie that one.

Welcome!
I've done Boyscout talks to troops and St. Andrew's has a great Scout Troop. Your boys are really active. Les is involved in Scouts as well. Tipp FlyFishers does help teach flyfishing meritbadge, so pass that along to the Scoutleaders there. Glad to have you aboard and look forward to fishing and tying with you soon!

Gentlemen;
Thank you for your welcome. Though we have been to a couple of events at the TFF, I look forward to getting to joining the TFF and getting to know you all much better and fishing with you when the opportunity presents itself.
Trent and I are heading up to MI to fish the PM next week for a day or so. If we have any luck, we'll let you guys know.
Thanks again for the warm welcome.
Pat
