Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anybody has done any fishing at eagle creek, doesn't matter if it's on the fly or not. Went yesterday and only caught one white bass.

I had a similar experience on Eagle Creek and almost flipped my canoe trying to row across the lake with two foot swells. That was an exciting day! It looks fishy to me.

I fished on the reservoir side next to the "coffer dam." I was going to try in that small lake that is blocked off from the reservoir but it was unbelievably windy. There were lots of small shad. I know that there are lots of crappie, tons of catfish (supposedly), bass, white bass, walleye, wipers, and bluegill of course. I just don't know where to go out there especially fishing from shore.

Now you have Muskies to add to the list. If you do not want to pay to enter the park your choices are pretty limited. There are 2 areas of 56th street you could park at. The property office is on the east side of the dam and another area on the west side. I am not sure if they will let you stay parked at the office but I heard you could. On Lafayette Road, you can park at the bridge or go west to the small little area on the North Side of the road.
Inside the the park the best area would be the walkway that splits the reservoir and the bird sanctuary. You can fish by the marina in the park and the beach. With the low water that we have had the last few years, you have been able to walk around most of the lake if you do not mind getting a little muddy.
Unless you are fishing the causeway at 56th street most of your bank fishing is north of this. I am not familiar with the south side of the lake to give more info. This causeway is a good spot at different times of the year and day. When the whites are chasing the shad they will be all over the rocks and the crappies will be along with them.
The creek is another topic all together and I am still exploring most of it. I have had good luck with crappies and white along with a few bass. Best time to research is during the low water if your looking to find deep holes. The creek also gets muddy after rain but usually is clear after a week.

When I get a chance, I'll probably try for crappie and white bass. I usually do catch and release, but can you eat fish from there?

Yes, you can eat fish from there. You can even eat fish from the White River which most people do not believe. If I am correct Eagle Creek is Class 2 waterway and the White River is Class 3.
