I am wanting to get a switch rod mainly for fishing Indiana waters with an occasional trip to Ohio. I would be interested in either a starter or mid range rod under $400. I am not even sure where to begin my search and all help is appreciated.
Cabela's has Switch and Spey Rod combos for under $400. The combos are for the rod and reel only so you still need to add the backing and line.
I would guess that after you add a Skagit line and backing you would be in the $450 range.

Scholars have long known that fishing turns men into philosophers. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to buy decent tackle on a philosopher's salary. - Patrick F. McManus /// My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells my fly fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.
The Echo and TFO are talked about on speypages.com more than the others. I was thinking of either a 5 or 6 wt. This is as far as I have gotten om my search and need help deciding which switch to get. Thanks again for the help.
