A float trip down the Tippecanoe River is set for Saturday, June 25, 2011. So, break out the canoes, kayaks, and pontoon boats and join us. Put the date on your personal calendars and post a reply of interest here so we can take a head count. Most often we float for 5-7 hours (and catch lots of fish!).
We have a couple of options for put in and take out places and I'm checking into that over the next few days. I'll post more soon. We will also discuss this trip at the Club Meeting on Thursday, June 23rd at MCL Cafeteria. Come join us for that too!
More to follow... Don

Sounds like fun. That day has been trumped by Day Out With Thomas with grandkids. They grow up to fast to miss. Can fish most any day but this will probably be the last outing with a Tank Engine. Don't need to say take pics. There is no trouble with fish porn with this club.

Sorry to hear that some of you can't make it and ecstatic that other's can. Hope you all have a good time in your other activities that day. You gonna miss a good float trip. Thanks, phishphinder for the offer of your canoe - hopefully, someone can put it on their car or truck and come alone.
Barry's request for a ride made me chuckle - are there waterways that connect CO with IN? Barry, could you work on that - given your leisure/retirement status and then meet us at the Oakdale dam put in...

Oh no, I just noticed the typo..."come alone," of course, should be "come along." I won't comment any further for fear that Barry would rip me to shreds. Barry is still so powerful and yet so many miles away. The power of the world wide web!

You would be surprised how far east the Platte River runs...........................but not to the Tippy. Don we could have got a good day of trout fishing in if you would have taken my offer. Besides Purdue's out for summer right. ................................................Come alone..............is that a Freudian slip Doc

More than one Freudian slip in this thread. I'll leave the easy jokes alone though. I will see you all ready to catch fish on the 25th. ;D

Trip Details: Saturday, June 25, 2011. We will meet at 5:30 a.m. at the Highway 18 Tippecanoe River parking lot, which is the take out point for the trip. We'll shuttle boats to the put in location, which is on Marlene's property, who is a friend of Ray Tabert, and then get started. The float will last most of the day.
Please confirm your interest so we can arrange a way to get the club canoe, if needed. Currently, we have Gary Krebs, Dave Hosler, Don Werden, confirmed. This leaves one opening in Gary's canoe. Jcpilot might be able to join us, which would allow for one more in his canoe. We can also get the club canoe, which would allow for 2 more people to join us. And then, of course, if you have a pontoon boat or kayak of your own, please do join us!
Bring your own lunches and "river munchies," plenty of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, fishing gear, and appropriate clothing.
If the water flow or weather is bad making the trip dangerous, we will postpone the trip to the following Sunday, July 3rd (to allow for those who work on Saturdays to perhaps join us). I will post the water flow info and confirm the float trip on Thursday evening, June 23rd.
If you have questions, feel free to contact me at dwerden @ att . net -
Thanks, Don
