The ice is gone from the pond so I thought that maybe, it was time to give it a try today. In a word"RUSTY"' wow! has this been a long winter. It felt like I had never cast a fly rod before, and if anyone was watching it probably looked that way as well. But after realizing that last years tippet was, shall we say brittle at best. (it took just two casts to lose the first fly of the season) I restrung and continued to persevere. But, alas I caught only a very runny nose and some left over algie from last fall. Be not discouraged spring is just around the corner and hopefully better fishing. Until then time to build new leaders.

I haven't brought the rod out but, I have been giving the Wildcat a long look every time I drive over it.
I did sit down today and put together some numbers from Mudhole for a new 3wt.
I still need to get some Trilene to build some ferruled leaders.

I've got the itch bad. It's time to do some fishing! I just bought some new SA textured line for my 10 weight for those huge pike flies. Can't wait to try it out!
Rick email me with you component list from Mudhole and I will get you the wholesale pricing.
