Time again to get together and enjoy being with each other as a club. This is also a good time to introduce other people to fly fishing. The kids seems to steal the show when they hook into a giant catfish. Bob Lyons is the best for letting us all use his lake. Let's not make his hard work to give us this fun opportunity be in vain. Ask Krebsie and others on how good the fishing can be. See you all there.

If I were you guys I wouldn't even bother bringing your fishing poles! The fishing at Lyons lake is miserable and very frustrating! Last trip I was trying to catch a few (more) bass with a salt water fly tied to a 2/0 hook and the stupid bluegill kept eating it. What a pain!! 9 and 10 inch bluegill one right after another. The poor bass didn't even have a chance to look at my pretty fly. Shoot after the Bluegill got done with it, you couldn't even tell what it was. My son really got tired of hauling in 5 and 6 pound catfish with an ultralight and 6 pound test. He complained all night about his arms hurting. And then there is Dad. All he did is smile all day, and ask why would anyone want to torture themselves all day long like this? I think he was talking about the torture of having to call it a day and go home !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Krebsie

Well the weather held out and 23 people came to Bob Lyons Lake. I think there was fun for all. We did not see any giant catfish on the stringer, but a good try anyway. Thanks to all for the good food and fellowship. Fish were caught and Krebsie's father took up real estate on a certain portion of the lake and staked his claim. Bluegill 8.5 to 9.25 inches most of the day. Don Werdon was kind enough to show us an early release tactic the seemed to work well. Martha kept Bob busy retrieving her snagged lures. A big thanks to Bob Lyons for his generosity. If you have not been up around Fowler, it is worth the trip to see the windmills.
