Well you guys helped teach these scouts how to cast and fish in October.
Now we need to teach them how to tie flies. We plan on tying on Friday, Dec. 17th at 7pm in the main lodge at Camp Cullom.
I would like to snag the tying box so that each kid will have his own vice. Dave McCoulough plans on helping me out with this, but the more the merrier. The added bonus is that you can stay and tie as long as you would like.
We will have snacks and as much coffee as you can drink available.
If you are available please let me know so i can plan accordingly.

Looks like I can make it. Is this an overnighter? If so I could probably stay and take how ever much time is needed.

As of right now, I should be able to make it. If something comes up, I'll post here.

Gotta check my schedule Les but would love to make it. I've got three tying kits I believe that belong to the club so I'll either bring those or get them to someone who'se going if I can't.
thanks! rf

To anser Rick's question, yes. The troop will be spending teh entire weekend out at Camp Cullom. Friday night we have Fly tying scheduled and if we have time maybe work on knots. This sort of depends on the number of kids and number of adults that can help out.
Saturday we switch gears to the Leather working Meritbadge, that will take most of the day.
You guys are welcome to stay Friday night if you would like and tie flies as late as you like. I don't have a problem with that. If you plan on staying with us you will need a cot of sleeping pad. The lodge where we are staying is just one big room with restrooms and a kitchen at one end.
We are talking about kids that are under 15 so their attention span is limited. I could see us doing two different things depending on the numbers.
The first option would be to split the scouts into two groups and have two seesions going on at the same time. Time about 45 minutes to an hour. On session would be tying while the other seesion would be knots. After a hour flip flop the kids.
Second options is to have all the scouts in one big group and do one session have a break do the next session.
Option one I think might be the best.

Here are directions to Camp Cullom. Take 65 south to the 28/Frankfort exit. Go left towards Frankfort. Take the first left which directly across the street from teh gas station and is Co.Rd. 800 W. You will stay on that for about 4 miles. You will then turn right on Co. Rd. 200 N. You take this for a bit over a mile and you will reach the main camp entrance, crossing the Mulberry/Jefferson blacktop along the way. Once in camp you will follow the road around till it "Ts" take a left and follow that to the main lodge, which is a large block building.
