Well, I just thought I ought to give everyone an update. I am in the Chattanooga, TN area and got to fish the Tennessee River yesterday (the trout streams - Toccoa and Elk were not fishable). According to my pals Pat and Trent, this is how my story goes:
We fished for stripers. It was overcast with some occasional drizzling. Conditions were perfect. I used my 8 wt. and mostly white and green clousers. We got to fish for few hours, wading off the banks a little ways down river from the dam. I caught a few. It was a spectacular time and I was so happy already having the opportunity to fish in January.
I wish the same for everyone! Happy New Year.

Sounds like a good trip. I thought about going out and fishing in the icey water, then thought i would rather stay warm and figure out how to tye flies.
We should be have a session on how to post pictures at the Feb. meeting

I imagine, Pat, that those pictures are not worthy to be posted on such a board as this. So, although I appreciate the offer, I think it best that you not.
And Krebsie, next time I'll invite everyone!

Congrats to troutcharmer, for braving the elements to fish early in 2009. Who did you fish with ?
