On May 14th Tom, Dave, Bill, and myself went on our annual trip to Wis. After having a 100 year class flood 2 years in a row, the area is coming back nicely. But with a cold front going through not only did we have to content with slow fishing but the wind was unbelieveable. We spent some of our time trying to find areas that were somewhat protected. The streams we fished in past years you could catch Brooke Trout in the 12" plus range on a regular basis. This year the largest I caught was maybe 8". But in couple more years it will be back to normal. The fish I managed to get a picture of was this 12" brown. I did catch one that was about 13 and a half inches but with my fumbling around he decieded that he didn't want his picture taken and flopped back in the stream. (yes, I know, fish story) We wanted to fish the Black Earth in the way up but the water was moving pretty good and off color so we passed. All in all it was a good trip though.

Rick;
I had to cancel my spring trip to Wisconsin - man, was I bummed! Glad to hear you were able to make it up there and catch some fish in spite of the conditions being less than ideal. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
In Christ;
Pat

Thanks for sharing Rick. Good to see that you managed to catch a few trout. I'm yet to catch my first trout of the year.
Glad to hear the environment is continuing to support fish. I hope that it continues to improve, long into the future!
