Today was the second time I fished with my Amago. Yesterday was the first and only for a half hour in the wind trying to cast. Today I went and fished a couple retention ponds with the hopes of getting my first fish on a Tenkara Rod. After rigging up, I walked down to the pond to an area I have always caught some gills. After a few cast that went array, I decided to short the line to around 15 feet without the tippet. After the adjustment I was finally able to make a halfway decent cast. I started to get a few bites but ended up missing the hook set. I had to watch the gills take the bite since they where not moving the line. After 20 mins I finally got my first gill. I ended up the day landing around 15 Gills. They where not the largest ones I caught but still fun. Here are a couple of the ones I got. Hope you enjoy. Mike P.

Sorry I missed this one earlier, you didn't really say if you liked the Tenkara system or not?

Coop, Do you mean the Yamame from Tenkara USA? I just got my 3rd rod this week. I now have the TUSA Amago at 13'6", the Tenkara-Fishing's 10'2" old rod, and the Diawa Kiyose 33SF at 11'. I have been having a blast using these fishing the ponds and the streams. I am thinking of hitting Brookeville on Wensday.
