I am surprised that you fly tying gurus have not heard of it. I tie with Norm Norlanders Nor-Vise system and his Automatic bobbin. You can learn more about it here www.nor-vise.com/ . Or if you do not like that one you could spend a Benjamin on the other one at www.automaticbobbin.com/.

I saw Norm demo his vise at the Chicago show about 7 or 8 years back almost bought one but I had just bought my Renzetti the year before. Slick system did it take time to get use to it? Norm makes it look very easy of course. He did have the bobbins at that time he said they were new and very pricey back then.

Seeing as I was still new to tying when I purchased my vise I do not believe it was that hard to learn. The biggest thing is when you cut the thread you need to make sure you hold it till you put it on the rest or you will have it rewind.
