Ladies and Germs,
Looking for a 3wt that isn't all wimpy. I like faster rods and would like something a tad longer than 7'6", which is the standard length anymore. Any suggestions in the 100-250 dollar range?
Thanks! rf

Gary;
Go to Red Truck Fly Fishing Company. They have 7'6" Sage FLI 3 wts. and they have 8' 4 wts for under $200. Sage makes a great rod. And, I don't know that I've ever cast a 3 wt. that was any faster than medium - at least not for under SEVERAL hundred $.
I have a 7' 6" 4 wt. FLI that I like a lot. I, too, prefer faster action rods and I like the Sage action - but I wouldn't call the FLI FAST, just MAYBE a tad on the fast side of medium IMHO. Really good rod for this price though...

Gary,
Cabela's has their LST, here is what the catalog claims, a versatile fast action, 8'3" long and 4 pieces. All for $180.
They also have a TFO Professional, 8"6" long, 4 pieces, medium-fast, for $150. As well as Ross and Redington rods that may fit the bill.

Ordered it! This weekend (Mothers Day Wknd) Cabelas has their LST's for $75 dollars off so I ordered a 8'3" 3wt. Thanks for the suggestion Rick. Let you know how that works out. They look like really nice rods and get rave reviews...and for 105 bucks, I'll try one.

Now that's what I call Mother's Day present. I new toy so you can get out the house. When it arrives can I play with it? No, the fishing rod!
