Acetylcholine and I Hired a guide in Bath Maine yesterday and had a great time. It is cold up here! We left Bar Harbor for the two hour drive and it was 43 degrees! We met Captain Forrest Faulklingham www.mainesaltwater.com by the Kennebec river and set out during a falling tide. We had a great time with Forrest and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. We were about 11 miles from the Atlantic ocean and the tide was moving the river swiftly. We started out drifting sand eels with egg weights on spinning gear. I wanted to get the skunk off and catch some fish before we changed over to fly gear. We both caught a striper early in the day and decided to fly fish. I was casting my 13 weight with 850 grain sinking line with a sand eel pattern. What a bear to cast! That got old fast. We moved downstream and tried Forrests new Orvis Helios 9 wts with sinking line on them. What a nice fly rod! We didn't have any luck with fly gear but we tried for half the day. Went back to the section of the river we had luck on in the morning and changed back to spinning gear. I hooked a good sized striper and Acetylcholine spots a seal that had been harassing other anglers coming towards the boat. I put the pressure on that fish trying to get him in before the seal got him but the seal won. It was interesting have a couple hundred pound suddenly on the other end of the line. Acetylcholine got some great pictures and a video. See the seal behind the fish Amazing shot!

They call that a nuisance that destroys lobster traps. They mysteriously wash up on shore with 22 caliber holes in there heads.
