Started at around 8am at the farm near the S 200 E bridge. Worked my way downstream until S 150 E. Fished until about 2pm.
Had a BLAST. It was literally fish after fish if I nymph-ed for chub, usually 4-8 inch. Caught most on a beaded hare's ear. Also tried a black woolly bugger, with a very fast retrieve. Same results.
Landed quite a few 12ish inch smallies too. They're a ton of fun with light tackle.
Great weather, scenery, and fishing. If you haven't fished the creek before, I highly suggest giving it a try. You can't go wrong here.
I'll post some pictures if I can ever find the cord for my dang phone...

Wea has become one of my favorite little creeks this past summer. There's smallies in there that will die of old age before they see a hook. I love that.

Yea, it's a really cool creek. And I hate to ruin it for you, but by the time winter hits, all the smallies will have seen (and tasted) a hook.

Is Wea creek big enough to get a canoe in and float? Also I hear the pond on veterans drive by 231 is county owned and can be fished. Any know about fishing the new lafayette pond development near 231/veterans drive near wea schools(i hear it's shallow)? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
