Today's tutorial will explain the basics of uploading a video to Youtube and posting your video in a TFF forum post.
Step 1.
Go to www.youtube.com/ and create an account or log on with your Gmail user name and password.
My log in screen looks like this.
Step 2.
After you log in click the yellow "Upload" button in the upper right corner. My screen looks like this.
Step 3.
Once I click the yellow upload button my screen looks like this. Click on the white "Upload Video" button towards the upper middle of the screen.
Step 4.
After you click "Upload Video" a new window will open allowing you to browse for a video file. In this picture I am about to click on the file "Thunderstorm".
Step 5.
Once you click "Open" Youtube will begin uploading your video. The upload may take some time depending on your file size and connection speed. This what my screen looks like while the video is being uploaded.
Step 6.
When my video finished uploading my screen looked like this. Next click on the blue "Go To My Videos" button towards the bottom of the page.
Step 7.
After I clicked the blue "Go To My Videos" button my screen looked like this. The "Thunderstorm" upload is being processed and the image is missing from the preview. I discovered that Youtube has a :10 minute limit on videos and they rejected my upload because it was too long.
Step 8.
Click on the picture of the video or the play button of the video you want to link to a forum post. I clicked on the video "MVI_4001.AVI" for this illustration. When my video is displayed I want to copy the "URL" link. This link is needed to post a video in a forum thread.
Step 9.
Once you have the URL link you are ready to add a video to your post. On the TFF forums click the red "Tube" button in the "Add Tags:" column. This will place the words youtube in brackets in the body of your forum post.
Step 10.
Paste the video URL link in between the youtube brakets in the body of your forum post. I clicked the "Preview" button and my screen looked like this. Click "Post Message" and your video will be displayed. If you have any questions send me a private message through the forums.
