Hey everyone Yes the tying is on, same time same place! Rick just e-mailed Dustin and myself and asked us to do the class,he's not going to make it. Dustin suggested streamers and I agree. Les your pike fly will fit right in. Bring whatever flash you can and well cover the rest. And if you have enough hooks to cover everyone or need someone to bring something special just post what you need us to bring. Dustin is out of town for a few more days, fishing again, imagine that, when he gets back will fill in all the details. Sorry for the slow response, been roofing the last four days, surface temp. of the roof was 154 deg. F today at 11:00 am. Brain is fried! later Krebsie

O.K. sorry I've been away for a long time. As Krebsie said, we are going to work on some simple streamers this month. Les, we will start with your pike fly and then we will do a simple clouser and if time allows either the dub-ciever or a half and half. We will leave it up to our participants. IF you are at all interested in fly tying, this would be a great time to join us and start your odyssey into fly-tying. The streamers we are tying are very basic and we will provide lots of extra help to any and all who need it. Les will demonstrate a great technique that he uses for his pike fly that can also have many other applications. This is a tremendous opportunity! So join us this Thursday, July 2 from 6 - 8 pm or so at St. Andrews United Methodist Church in West Lafayette. Don't worry if you have to arrive late, we will start a new fly every 45 min. or so. This is a FREE class for all club members and any guests. A great deal! A vise and all materials provided for those in need.

I will bring the hooks that I use for the pike flies and bring several different examples. I will also be bringing a new fly tier with me. I am not sure how he will do, since normally sometime between 6 and 9 he has to be fed and have his diaper changed. Hope you all don't mind, but this is the only way I can come a tie. I quess if you do mind, you will just have to deal with it. See ya all there.

Les;
We love babies at St. A's! We figure if we can put up with a room full of ornery fly-tyers, we can deal with babies! Bring him!

Les:
Great-grandpa Festus is in town?! How'd he bust out of the home again???
I think my baby may be there for a bit prior to the beginning of the festivities, but will probably be going home with momma for bedtime. She had a good ol' time crawling around the last one and chewing on Krebsie's bag of tying stuff. I had to draw the line when she started gnawing on his freshly processed guinea fowl saddle - I don't want her catching bird flu or SARS or whatever other kinds of bugs may be floating around in Krebsie's bag of tricks!
If you are there Les, I can fill you in on my Minnesota experience. Just got back last night.

Oh...now I feel REALLY bad! Tell you what, next time I'll bring the cookies! It's mostly guys so it'll HAVE to be chocolate chip! Thanks for the thought Pat...appreciate it! Just had one of those days. My wife is younger than I so she's the one with the working memory. She's the one who reminds me never to miss my Flytying Thursdays, but she had it in her head that yesterday was Friday. Went to the doctor and found out I have some skin cancer issues (fixable) then pulled out of the doctor's office and had a wreck (fixable) and returned to work to deal with some pain in the ^$% clients (fixable - they'll all be dead someday ) So I completely spaced the flytying. All is good though...I have two business owners who want me to teach them flyfishing! Great! More converts to the 'dark side'!

Radio; Don't feel bad. Being thoughtful is part of my charm! Maybe, after the day you had, relaxing at home is what you NEEDED to do. Sorry to hear about the skin cancer issues & the wreck and I'm very glad to hear they are both fixable. Take care. Pat
